Flyball 1

New class starting July 16, 2013

Class Description: Flyball is a dog sport in which two teams of four dogs run in a relay race against each other. It is a fast, athletic and highly stimulating dog sport. In this class we will use positive training techniques to teach your dog the core skills while also emphasizing fun and safety.

Class fee: $100 + membership dues. Class is limited to twelve students.

Prerequisites:
Due to the physical requirements of flyball, your dog must be at least one year of age.  Necessary skills include sit, down, walk politely on leash, focus on handler while another dog and handler walk by, recall from 30 feet away, and recall with a mild distraction.

Handler and dog teams who have not previously taken classes at TCOTC will be required to attend a brief evaluation before being approved for the class.  TCOTC members are required to have completed a minimum of a level two obedience class.  If you'd like to request an exemption from the requirement, send an e-mail describing the reasons for your request to: office@tcotc.com

Registration process:
Club membership is required to attend classes at TCOTC. A membership application is included on the course application.
Fill out this application and send it with a check made out to TCOTC to the address on the application, or bring it to the front desk at TCOTC. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students new to TCOTC should follow this same registration process to reserve a space in the class.  They will then be required to participate in a brief evaluation on the evening of July 9th, 2013 at 7pm. This is to ensure their dog is ready for the challenges of flyball class.
